Build freestanding pantry. I ve already torn out a couple of cabinets where we ve been storing can goods and have committed myself to building a free standing pantry let s get started. Retrofit your cabinet with slide out drawers or work a pre built pantry cabinet box into the layout of a kitchen remodel. It s perfect for those living in small homes or even apartments who need a temporary storage for food. You can also do this project if you re looking for a storage for your arts and crafts materials or other items.

As long as you have enough space for a cabinet you can build yourself this rustic freestanding kitchen pantry. I think it adds a nice balance to the refrigerator. I repurposed a large one that used to house my tv to put in my kitchen. Building a pantry in its own cabinet creates dedicated storage space right in the kitchen without sacrificing the look of your existing cabinets.

My house was built back in 1978 and for some reason the original design did not feature a food pantry. Insert blue painted mailing tubes or pvc pipes on one shelf to create a spot for wine. Mount baskets bins and hooks on its sides and install a metal rod on the front to hold dishtowels.
