Breast Implant Measurements

The diameter of a round breast implant is the same measurement as the implant width and height.
Breast implant measurements. A general rule of thumb when choosing the right breasty implant size is to use an implant that is within 1cm of your natural measurement. Most surgeons recommend an implant that is slightly narrower or the same width as your current breast width. When your plastic surgeon is measuring you preoperatively the chest diameter will figure into what is the proper breast implant base. If your breast width measures 13 cm then an implant with a diameter of 13 cm or slightly less such as 12 5 cm is a good fit.
Weigh the risks of selecting large breast implant sizes the larger the implant the heavier it is. Most women s breasts measure between 11 cm and 14 cm wide. If you want to have a lot of upper breast fullness then a wide tall implant is needed. A lot of women may get hung up on cc s without giving thought to such individual variables as body and tissue type.
Breast implant sizes are measured in cubic centimeters cc s and run the gamut from 120 cc s to 850 cc s. These implants normally begin at around 100cc and increase their sizes up to 800cc. Once your breast width diameter is measured your surgeon will present you with several breast implant sizes that work for you. A 450 ml implant weighs about 1 pound.
